Dear Members of our Community:

The Harrison Volunteer Fire Department is a non-profit organization that provides emergency services to the residents and businesses of the fire district, as well as anyone who passes through our community. Only to be staffed by sixteen career firemen, Harrison residents take on the difficult task of supplementing the rest of the firefighting force to the town. Over 60 firemen voluntarily dedicated their lives to the fire service, providing constant protection and safety to those in our fire district. Commanded by three fire chiefs, our members make a large contribution to the preservation of life and property, which is the core value of our family established by our very first volunteer fire chief, Robert R. Willets. Over 75% of the entire fire department is completely volunteer. 

Our members are nothing short of professional and are held to the same standard as our career firemen. We are constantly reinforcing our skills and training with monthly company drills, NYS and Westchester county administered certifications, as well as incident pre planning & building inspections. Tremendous amounts of work and training takes place with the volunteer fire department, and all of it goes totally unpaid for. Oftentimes, members take out of their own funds to acquire items like office materials for administrative work, furniture for volunteer dorms and sleeping quarters, and meals for rotating shift work at the firehouse.  

If you are resident of Harrison Fire District #2, and would like to pay gratitude to the servants of your community, a kind donation in person or online would be more than appreciated to aid the first responders that put themselves in harm's way risking their lives, to save yours!
